Alleged burglar arrested for stealing shirt, food, booze
RED BLUFF — All he wanted was a drink, something to eat and a new shirt. Instead, he was arrested and thrown in jail.
So says the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department.
On Friday night, deputies were called to the Gallatin Ranch on Gallatin Road in Red Bluff to reports of a man coming home and finding someone inside his house, the sheriff’s department said.
When deputies arrived, Jason Hatfield, 29, was locked out of the house and someone he didn’t know was inside, the sheriff’s department said.
Deputies attempted to talk to the man inside, but he refused to cooperate. They eventually had to force entry into the house, the sheriff’s department said.
They arrested Oregon resident Andy Joseph Kore, 43, on suspicion of burglary after deputies discovered he had eaten some food, drank a half-bottle of whiskey and was wearing Hatfield’s T-shirt.
He was booked into the Tehama County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
